Privacy Policy for Android

The Google Play version of Pidgeon Pocket, package com.jlianes.pidgeonpocket.

Last updated: 2026-10-27

Short version: there is no account, no developer analytics and no developer-operated server. Your progress lives on your phone. The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob, and Google collects and processes device data to serve them; in Europe the app asks for your consent first. A one-time purchase through Google Play removes those ads.

This page covers only the Google Play version. The PC version has its own privacy policy.

1No accounts and no developer analytics

The developer does not directly collect, receive, or store personal data from the app. There is no sign-in and no account. The app contains no analytics of the developer's own: no Firebase, no Google Analytics, no crash reporting service and no developer-operated server. The app never asks you who you are, and never asks for:

  • Name, email address, phone number, or any account identifier.
  • Precise location, contacts, photos, files, calendar, camera, or microphone.

The app does involve Google as a third party for advertising, purchases and app integrity. Google collects and receives the data described in sections 3, 5 and 6.

2What is stored on your phone, and in the cloud

Your progress, unlocks, achievements, settings, and language and audio preferences are written to the app's own storage on your device. None of this game data is uploaded to the developer, and the developer never sees it.

The app has no cloud save of its own. If Android backup is turned on for your Google account, Android may include the app's data in your device backup, which Google stores in your Google account. That backup is run by Google under your account; the developer cannot see or access it, and you can manage or turn it off in your phone's backup settings.

Uninstalling the app deletes the game data on your phone. There is no copy on a developer-operated server.

3Advertising (Google AdMob)

The free version shows ads served by Google AdMob. To serve, measure, analyse, and protect those ads, Google may collect and process:

  • your device's advertising identifier (Advertising ID), and the Android Privacy Sandbox ad services (ad ID, attribution and topics) where your device offers them;
  • IP address, and the approximate (not precise) location derived from it;
  • device and other identifiers, and device and app information such as model, operating system version, and app version;
  • app and ad interactions, such as app launches and whether an ad was served, viewed, or tapped;
  • diagnostics, including crash data and performance information.

This data is collected by and shared with Google, a third party, for analytics, advertising or marketing, and fraud prevention, security, and compliance. The developer does not receive it at an individual level, only aggregate performance reports. Google's own handling is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.

The app asks AdMob to serve only ads suitable for teens: the maximum ad content rating is set to T (Teen), so ads rated for mature audiences are not requested.

The app does not show ads during active play. Forced ads appear only at configured breaks, and rewarded videos appear only when you deliberately choose to watch one.

4Your choices about ads

  • In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, the app asks for your consent with Google's User Messaging Platform (UMP) before it loads AdMob or requests any ad. You can change or withdraw that consent at any time from Settings → Privacy → Manage ad consent inside the app. Refusing does not lock you out of anything: the whole game stays playable, and you see non-personalised ads instead.
  • On Android you can reset or delete your Advertising ID at any time from Settings → Privacy → Ads on your device.
  • Buying Remove Ads permanently removes every forced ad. Rewarded videos stay available only if you choose to watch one.

5Purchases (Google Play Billing)

The app offers one single non-consumable product: Remove Ads. It is sold through Google Play Billing, which collects and processes your purchase history to complete and verify this in-app purchase. Payment is handled entirely by Google Play. The developer does not collect, receive, or store card numbers or any other payment detail. The app only checks with Google Play that the purchase exists, when it starts and when it comes back to the screen, so Remove Ads comes back on its own if you reinstall or change phone using the same Google account.

There are no currency packs, no loot boxes bought with real money, and no subscription. Game content can be reached by playing.

6App integrity (Google Play Integrity)

The app includes Google's Play Integrity API library. When the app starts or comes back to the screen, it gets the Play Integrity service ready. Play Integrity lets Google Play check that the app is the genuine one from Google Play and runs on a genuine device; for this Google processes device and app information, for fraud prevention and security.

The developer never requests an integrity verdict and has no server that would receive one, so no integrity result reaches the developer.

7Permissions the app asks for, and why

  • INTERNET and ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE: needed to load ads, to talk to Google Play for the purchase, and to know whether a connection is available. The game itself is playable offline.
  • com.android.vending.BILLING: needed to sell and restore Remove Ads through Google Play (section 5).
  • com.google.android.gms.permission.AD_ID: the advertising identifier used by AdMob (section 3).
  • ACCESS_ADSERVICES_AD_ID, ACCESS_ADSERVICES_ATTRIBUTION and ACCESS_ADSERVICES_TOPICS: added by the AdMob library, so it can use the Android Privacy Sandbox ad services where your device has them (section 3).
  • WAKE_LOCK and FOREGROUND_SERVICE: added by the AdMob library for its own short background tasks. The app does not keep your screen on and does not run its own background service.
  • com.jlianes.pidgeonpocket.DYNAMIC_RECEIVER_NOT_EXPORTED_PERMISSION: an internal permission that Android's build tools add so the app's own parts can talk to each other. No other app can use it.

The app requests no permission for contacts, files or storage, camera, microphone, phone state, or location.

8Links that leave the app

The app may offer optional links to external pages. Nothing is sent when the app starts. A link opens your browser only if you tap it, and from that point the destination's own privacy policy applies.

9Children

Pidgeon Pocket is meant for players aged 13 and over. It is not directed at children under 13, and it is not enrolled in Google Play's Designed for Families programme. The developer does not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information, write to the address in section 12 and it will be addressed.

10Your rights, and how to ask for information or deletion

Rights such as access, correction, portability, and erasure (GDPR, CCPA) apply to personal data held by a company. The developer holds no personal data from this app, so there is nothing to access, export, or erase on the developer's side, and your save lives only on your phone and, if you use it, in your own Android backup (section 2).

  • To delete your game data, uninstall the app or clear its storage in your phone's settings.
  • For advertising data, withdraw consent inside the app and reset or delete the Advertising ID on your device (section 4). Requests about data already processed by Google are handled by Google.
  • Purchase history is managed through your Google Play account.

If you have any question about your data or want to ask for information or deletion, write to the email address in section 12. You will get an answer by email.

11Changes to this policy

If a future version of the app ever handles data differently (for example, if developer-operated analytics are added), this page is updated before that version ships, and the Data safety declaration on Google Play is updated with it. The current version is dated at the top of this page.
